1.
Purpose of this Checklist
This checklist has been compiled to aid in the preparation of McDonalds Russia MFY new store and remodel
layouts. The document is under constant review and all users should ensure the use of the most up-to-date
revision prior to commencing each layout. Any suggested additions or amendments to the document must
be forwarded to shaun.mcmahon@hki.com for updating. Comments and changes received from McDonalds
Russia and Form Trade Russia, if applicable across all stores, should be considered for inclusion in this
document.
This document and the latest revision of the Russian K2 text dwg must be used in the preparation of
K1, K2 and K4 layouts. Copying and pasting service information from previous layouts is not
acceptable

Equipment Legend

4.
Building
• Remove all unnecessary objects from floor plan (grid, dimensions external items).
□
• Make a block copy of the floor plan for reference purposes [ctrl+x, ctrl+shift+v].
□
(This block will be used to check equipment positions on K1 layout)
• Remove all symbols and blocks related to the kitchen, counter or backroom.
□
• “Purge” & “Overkill” the floor plan and place on layer “A WALL”.
□
• All fixtures and fittings not related to the kitchen, counter or backroom must remain
□
on layer “A WALL”.
• Hatch the walls with hatch pattern ANSI31, scale 600 on layer “A WALL”.
□
• Identify all pillars/ structural columns and hatch as above.
□
• Identify any new walls (Remodels Only) and place on layer “NEW CONSTRUCTION”.
□
• Hatch these walls with hatch ANSI31, scale 600 on layer “NEW CONSTRUCTION”
□
• Don’t show any demo walls in Remodels.
□
• Open the new drawing template and rename to the current project name.
□
• Copy the “clean” floor plan to the new project drawing and save the drawing.
□
• Position the floor plan as required and lock the layer “A WALL”.
□
• Use the bubble text call-out to draw attention to any obvious building issues/conflicts.

• Insert the reference floor plan block.

6. General Standards
• Drawings match the McD/ Architects layout (LO) drawing (any issues are clouded/ flagged). □
• All H&K text shown horizontally where possible.
□
• Russian Colour Legend shown on all layouts.
□
• Use McDonalds existing equipment symbols on Remodels where the equipment is not moved. □
• K4 Elevations only shown for new or relocated equipment.
□
Show local items if one item relocated. E.g. Apple Pie relocated to existing bagging station
– Show the Apple Pie on the bagging station in K4.
• Do not show walls on K4.
□
• All stations need to be against walls, no air gaps between them.
□
• Missing walls due to LO inaccuracy to be shown in green hatching (new walls).
□
• Change any English text shown on LO drawings using the translation below.

11. Beverage Cell
ALL NEW BEVERAGE CELLS MUST BE MADE UP OF VE EQUIPMENT UNLESS SPECIFICALLY
REQUESTED BY MARKETING IF IN DOUBT CONTACT DUBLIN ENGINEERING.
• Check all items, colours, positions against the LO.

All Beverage Cell cabinets must be new.

• The preferred cabinet sequence is Ice bin – 8 cups – Bag – 4 cups
□
• The preferred cabinet sequence is VE-812610 / VE-812503 (??).
□

The preferred equipment sequence is:

BLZ table - Drinks tower – 2 Coffee machines –POS Till - Orange juice –
McFlurry -Shake machine – BIC - Future 1.
• Check the layouts against McDonald’s order of preference:

1. Parallel
2. U-Shaped
3. L-Shaped
4. In-Line
• Bag storage cabinet only used if under POS Till

• If 305 cabinet is required use the 4 Cup version.

• MFY Remodels sockets must be shown in the chases.

• If POS Till is shown on the BC use the 610 bag storage cabinet under it.

Check door swing direction on all chillers.

• BIC cannot be shown as Future but only as New, Existing or Relocated.

• We no longer supply blenders to Russia therefore show C602+810284 (McFlurry 4 canisters)
+812938 (lid holder) instead.

11a. Glass Wall
• Check if the store requires a glass wall at the beverage cell. (NER)
□
• New Stores – Show sockets on wall for items not against glass wall.
□
• Determine services placement at the glass wall (in order of preference):
□
1. Place cable in chase if no further than 0.5m from equipment to chase.
2. Place sockets on an adjacent wall if <=0.5m away (not on pillar/column).
3. Glass wall sockets can be shown at 600mm AFFL where any item is
further than 0.5m from the nearest chase or wall?
• Always show Python/Water line in nearest chase or solid wall.
□
• If the store is a FC store (Food Court), the wall will always be a solid wall.
□
11b. Shakes Machine
• Always show the Generic Shake Machine Cad block.
□
• Check the Shake Machine type on the NER, drawing or email notes.
□
• If Carpigiani machine is required remove Flurry, Cabinet & service note.
□
• If a McFlurry is shown it must be on opposite side to shake m/c Cup Dispenser.

11c. DC6 Salad (Remodels only)
• If DC6 Salad & under-counter refrigerator are shown, reuse both.
□
• Only reuse the DC6 Salad cabinet if it is free-standing.

11d. ABS
• If ABS is existing – Show it in the proposed drawing.

12. Drive Thru
• 2 Tills required, one at window & one at beverage cell. The preference is:

3. 811019 – 400 x 750 mm – if space does not allow to use table 1 or 2.

Do not use a 329 mm cabinet in this area.

• GC < 1800 and the store is DT only ONE beverage tower has to be in the store

and it has to be located in Beverage cell.
• Fast Forward (FF) – In 3 rd DT window show Black/White table and label booth “Fast Forward” □
• If the LO shows a second drinks tower near the DT window we delete it.

17. Grill Station
• Use the latest standards excel file for number of platens.

• Grill Station depth to be updated from 1095mm to 1022mm (Garland grills only).

• Check duct / filter type against email.

• 3 Platen Grill closest to UHC table.

• If the wall adjacent to the grill station extends forward of the equipment line, we can shorten it to
finish in line with the MF or grill hood.
□
• Only move grill hood if no other option is possible.
□
• Split Grill Hood: adjust extraction & kW rating for split grill hoods.

18. Backroom
• Free Standing Panel required where the Sink is adjacent to cooking/ prep.new p/n 812506 □
• Show Grease Guardian symbol and services at 3-Comp sink.

• Dishwasher installation is a mandatory condition for each restaurant.
□
• Show dimensions of the niche in which the DWM/ WM / Multiplex is located.
□
• DWM Table:

1. Show table 400 x 600mm with DWM
2. DTPC-36 if space is too tight (cloud if still too tight)
(Note: McDonalds LO is not always correct)
• DWM should be in a separate room or niche –Rev cloud if not.

• 2nd Future (Kitchen). This future can be placed at the end of the MFY line or at the far
□
side of the kitchen along the walls.
Blinds
• The image below shows a dashed line and the Russian word for blinds. This appears with WM,
Multiplex, Mopsinks. This detail must be included in our representation of the building.
• There are two types of washing machine (see below). Select the type as per NER sheet.

• Leave Mopsinks as shown on McDonalds LO. Show them as Existing – Black
□
• New stores – Always show the Compactor as new. Dim 1005 x 785mm (see example below). □

18a. Baby Changing Unit
• Show Baby Changing unit on all New Store layouts.
□
• Show Baby Changing unit on wall as shown in red below Just the Changer.

19. Salad Room
Reject the layout if the salad sink overlaps the window.
□

Never show the long chiller table even if on MCD LO.
□
•
Salad room must have a hand basin.
□
•
Salad room must show one door and one pass-thru hatch.
□

When the LO shows a cooler –
Show new Mobile Salad Prep Table
